Welcome to our website and a taste of Southern Indiana Hospitality.
We are very proud of our heritage and our history which began as a French trading post located on the old Buffalo Trace in 1811. It includes such notable events as:
* The home of Pluto Water--the best selling laxative of the first half of the 20th century
* Franklin D. Roosevelt announced his intention to run for President of the United States here
*NBA Legend Larry Bird was born and raised here as was Jerry Reynolds of the Sacramento Kings
By the latter half of the 19th century, French Lick was a world famous spa town. By the early 20th century, we had spas and
casinos which attracted celebrities such as boxer Joe Lewis, composer Irving Berlin, and gangster Al Capone.
When the gambling and the casinos were shut down in the mid 1950s, the town was essentially shut down with them.
Due to perseverance and hard work by a number of local residents, the State of Indiana and Orange County Electorates' approval
of a new casino and the complete renovation and restoration of our two fine, magnificant hotels by the Cook Group, WE ARE BACK!!
Come visit the most exciting, new destination location in the Midwest. Enjoy golf, gaming, fishing, boating, water slides, horseback riding,
a Railroad Museum and the fun of a quaint little town.
Thanks for visiting our site and come back soon!
